Unsatisfactory China Crap

Comments about Haier 12000BTU ENERGY STAR Window Air Conditioner with Remote:

This unit is a lackluster which is produced in China. Customer Service in the USA is downright poor and unacceptable. Spent 2 hours talking to the off-shore help telling them my problem. Then, decided to contact corporate, and had the same long waits and just poor service.

The air produced on the front panel is NOT even. The left side is "perfect" while air on the right side of the vents is low to none. Unit freezes up as their is not adequate airflow.

DO NOT BUY - This is problem unit, as I tried three of these.

Very Poor - I Do NOT Recommend

        By Hoosier half dollar

        from North Central Indiana

Comments about Haier 12000BTU ENERGY STAR Window Air Conditioner with Remote:

Very poorly designed to install. The instructions states that if you have storm windows you must add at least 1.5" wood to raise the unit. There is no bottom ridge to hold the unit instead you must drill and install 3 screws through the unit into the sills. We have (man made) stone sills and that was not something I wanted to drill into. Finally got the unit in the window (two trips to the hardware store) and couldn't get the side slates to open so I gave up and the unit had duct tape between the unit and the side of the window.
Also this is one of the loundest units that I have ever owned. The front grill was not put together properly and that was the last thing I had to redo.

My recommendation is Do Not Buy.
