I own a Oreck Steam-It mop for my floors, and a SteamFast canister steamer for heavy duty cleaning. This steamer should not be used as the main steam cleaner in a home because it will not live up to the expectations of a full-time steam cleaner. I purchased this handheld steamer as a supplimental cleaner for everyday tasks. It's good for cleaning the kitchen counter after dinner, cleaning the cooktop, cleaning my glass dining room table, and maybe spot steaming the microwave and fingerprints on the fridge. I only get about 10 minutes of steaming, and it is not good for heavy-duty cleaning. I recommend you purchase a canister steamer if you want to do heavy household cleaning and a steam mop for floors. I happen to like the Haan handheld because it heats up fast and doesn't take forever to put away--like my other steam cleaners. It's a great steamer if you just need to spruce up the kitchen or maybe clean a toilet or the kids toys.
