I got this safe as a second handgun safe. I already own a gun vault multi vault.

Compared with the larger handgun safe I was disappointed that the door doesn't spring open like the larger safe. Makes gun access a little slower.

Since this is the same price as the single gun safe I expected it to work similarly.

The plastic battery door/battery area also feels cheaper than the larger version. It's durability remains to be seen. I have had the larger safe for over 10 years and other than some foam damage (which I consider normal wear and tear) it has performed like a champ. Highly recommend the brand.

Excellent Product for storing two compact handguns or larger handgun and mags. Excellent for vehicle storage in trunk or truck seat. Has steel cable to secure to other fixed objects. Have put it in luggage for airline travel. (Check your destination before putting it on.) Also great for gold/cash/jewelry and other valuables and while staying in hotel rooms. I found this same safe at a gun show for [$] I used the "Red Laser" app on my iPhone and it came up on the Meijer site for [$]. I bought one for each side of the bed. One for the wifes gun and one for mine. We used to keep them up high, out of our childrens reach. Now we feel much safer with them within reach.

This unit is perfect for securing a pistol short -term in a vehicle. Very compact and easily hidden. The security cable is a bit light but will definitely stop a "snatch & grab" thief. I use this to secure my concealed carry weapon in my vehicle when I'm entering a place where possession of a weapon is prohibited. I already owned the larger Gun Vault for home use so the decision to buy this one was not difficult. Both are well made and well suited to their intended use.
