Food Saver is ESSENTIAL for us single people.
One can cook recepies full size and not worry about waste - even sauces - partition them in a baking pan, freeze, and break out sections along partition lines, bag 'em up and they last a LOOOOOOOOng time with no freezer burn WHAT SO EVER!

ABSOLUTELY PREVENTS the old "left-overs turning into biology experiments in the fridge.
KEEPS MOISTURE CONTENT of food stable. You can even freeze grilled chicken and have it come ut of the bag moist and tender.
It seems to me the vacuum process helps DISTRIBUTE FLAVORS more evenly in food - even meats - so it comes out of the vacuum tsting better thatn when it went in.

    I received my first FoodSaver when they first hit the stores. Had to have the canisters too! I love the money it saves us since we buy in bulk and I always cook too much of everything. I freeze our leftovers for our daughter who lives in another state. That way she can easily take it home in a cooler & enjoy the meals when she gets homesick for Mom's cooking. It's great for freezing nuts too! I highly recommend the FoodSaver to everyone!
