This stainless steel clad steamer has greatly simplified my daily cooking routines. It has a snugly fitting lid & a thick, flat bottom that conducts heat well. Vegetables taste better & cook in about half the time as my previous setup(a short-legged collapsible steamer basket in a small pot.) There's no burned pots because the water's run dry. There's no worries about reaching into a cloud of steam to retrieve the steamer insert from the water bath-- just grab it by the handles bare-handed. Great also for reheating already cooked food. Only thing missing is a double boiler insert for sauces & desserts.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
