Farberware Classic Series 8Qt Covered Straining Stockpot
This pan has a clever design for straining, pouring, or covered cooking. The lid has a deep rim with optional straining holes. To strain, line the holes up with the pan's pour spouts and strain with ease. For covered cooking, rotate the lid to close the holes. A stainless steel protector surrounds a thicker aluminum core for easy maintenance and better heat distribution. Since the entire surface is stainless steel, cleanup is easier, so you can take time enjoying your meal.

Comments about Farberware Classic Series 8Qt Covered Straining Stockpot:

This is the Pasta Pot you've always wanted! This pot is huge (deep) which allows pasta room to move while cooking. It's very sturdy & retains heat for even cooking. After cooking, the straining lid (which locks closed) allows you to safely pour off the boiling water without burning yourself, or losing the contents down the drain (2 different sizes of holes). This would also be a great soup/stock pot; but not for steaming. It does take some room to store - but other pans can store inside without worry about scratching a non-stick surface. Since it's all stainless steel it cleans up easily if you don't let food sit & dry on it. If it cleaned itself I'd give it 5 stars!

My wife & I started with one of those cheap little red pasta pots that you've all seen advertised. They're very thin - which means they dent & don't retain heat. They also rust if you use them more than a couple of times. If you really cook a lot of pasta, GET THIS POT... you'll still be using it 15 years from now!
