When my 7 week was born he was substantially under weight. The hospital pediatrician suggested this formula and it has helped more than I could have hoped for. He has gone from being in the 2nd percentile for both length and weight to being in the 25th percentile for both! Both I and the doctor are very pleased with my son's weight gain. The pros out weigh the cons in leaps and bounds. My baby loves the taste and thankfully anything that does get on his cloths never leaveas those yucky yellow stains that other formulas may leave. The only con I see is that it does leave him with some gas pains occasionally after feeding but this happens with most formulas and was expected with this as well.
Over all this is a great product and I am very thankful for all that it has done for my baby.

It's horrible that Enfamil does not provide Enfacare in a larger container. The coupons that are in the paper or that are available are only for the larger container formulas. Most parents that have their children on this formula have had preemies and are likely find it difficult to manage the financial burden along with trying to give their child the proper formula.

My daughter was 35 weeks when she was born and was in the hospital for 2 weeks post birth I exclusively harvested (pumped) and added 1/2 tsp for every 90 mL it added 22 calories and my daughter gained weight so quickly I believe it was one of the reasons we were out so quick! Also, once we started switching to formula she transferred so easily because she loved the taste!! It was a lifesaver!! So thank you Enfamil!! :)

Comments about Enfamil EnfaCare Lipil Milk-Based Infant Formula - Powder - 1 Can (12.8 oz):

My son was put on this formula by the Dr's in the NICU he was staying in. He has done very well for the most part, he is now 2 months and one day old and has gone from 3 lbs 14 oz to 8 lbs 3 oz. He seems to like the taste as well. The only bummer is it does seem to make him constipated and he does seem to have a lot of gas. I was breastfeeding exclusively and then fortifying my milk. After a while though I could not produce enough milk only 3 oz a day. After being on supplements and many other suggestions I decided it would be better for him to go on formula full time. Like I said he has done very well on it except for some tummy issues. All and all I do think this formula is a really good product :)

My little girl was born 7 weeks early at 33 weeks gestation and was in the NICU for 25 days, she was on just breast milk until they discharged her and they put her on the enfacare to go home and supplement every other feeding. But I found out that the ready made formula caused her to have gas and constipation, but the powder form was wonderful stirred not shaken to reduce gas. And also supplementing my breast milk with a scoop of the enfacare also helped with the constipation. But overall the milk is doing her great she has gained so much weight on it and I love it!!!! I will continue to keep using this product.

Our baby girl was born 10 weeks early and stayed in the NICU for 51 days. After battling NEC twice, she finally did well with the Enfamil Enfacare formula. She is 4 months (6 weeks adjusted) and is doing fantastic on this formula. We definitely reccommend it.

I'm a first time father and my wife gave birth to twin girls at 25 weeks (1lb 4oz, & 1lb 12oz). They are 6 months old today and the heavier girl is still in the NICU, the lighter one came home on this formula a month ago. We use the bottles provided by the hospital to store breastmilk to store the formula and water seperately so we can mix it in a pinch anywhere we go. She is now 7lbs 3oz and going strong, and hopefully our other little girl will come home on this formula

Comments about Enfamil EnfaCare Lipil Milk-Based Infant Formula - Powder - 1 Can (12.8 oz):

My twin boys were born at 32 weeks and came home on this formula. One baby has reflux and we're having a hard time keeping it down him - it seems to cause some gas in both babies - but that may also just be the nature of being a baby. Initially we used it as a supplement by adding a 1/3 tsp per 2oz of breast milk. I would recommend Mead Johnson add a 1/3 tsp scoop to the handle of the scoop - because I was unable to find any measuring spoons that come in a 1/3 tsp. I always had to estimate from a 1/4 and a 1/2 tsp sizes. Secondly, I wish they would make this formula in the single packets to mix up a bottle on the fly. Also, the ready-made...stinks! It makes their burps and their BMs smell so bad. It's convenient in a pinch, but oh my goodness it smells. I think the ready-made upsets their systems a little - the powder seems a bit gentler. However, all in all, I'm happy with the formula - my babies are growing well. They are 3 months and their weights are 10lbs, 13oz (3-15 at birth) and 11lbs, 7oz (3-9 at birth). Developmentally they are scoring on the low end of normal (full-term) 3 month olds - so I have to believe they will continue to catch up well, and this formula is helping that.

My daughter Carolyn was considered full term. I gave birth five days before my due date. I was terrified still being a first time mother and my pregnancy was very rough. I spent a great deal of it admitted to the hospital where I gave birth. Before I got pregnant i weighed 150 pounds. Four days after I gave birth I weighed 122 pounds. My daughter weighed in at 5 pounds 2 1/2 ounces. She weighed more than I gained throughout my whole pregnancy. She was three months old on October eighth. Her pediatrician prescribed her EnfaCare. My daughter now weighs 12.3 pounds and has progressed great. Being a first time mother is still scary everyday but I am amazed at how fast my daughter has grown.
