This is a wonderful formula that truly does work to relieve spit-up, and in turn, makes a for a happier and more satisfied baby. For a first time mother, this was a life-saver! My baby was a strong eater since day one, as she was a 5 pounder at birth. While she is generally calm, we could see that she had a certain fussiness at times. After three weeks of life, she began to spit-up more frequently and intensely. Our doctor suggested this formula and it worked like a charm. Her spit-up disappeared almost immediately, and her demeanor went from slightly irritable to calm, happy, and playful. She has been on this formula now for the past two months and I have only had some minor issues with constipation. The formula is visibly much thicker than other formulas due to the rice starch. The doctor told me to resolve this by giving her an ounce or two of water once a day. Now that she is older she can tolerate a teaspoon of baby prune juice in one of her bottles. This keeps her system flowing. I am so grateful for this formula. It kept my daughter satisfied while waiting to begin cereal. While addressing the constipation issues, my doctor temporarily suggested I switch to similac alimentum to see if this would help. This was a disaster. She not only began to spit-up again, but it also affected her sleeping patterns. She went from almost sleeping through the night at two months, to back to being up every hour and a half. It was thin and unsatisfying. I quickly put her back on the Enfamil, and in a day and a half she was back to normal. Never again! She does still have some slight spit-up, but it is very minimal. My only criticisms for this product is that you have to wait 5 minutes for the formula to settle after mixing it. This is way too long for a crying baby to wait! Also, the ready-to-feed is very difficult to open. My husband has to do it for me and there isn't a replacement top to use on it after it is open. We use aluminum foil to keep it preserved. Otherwise, this is a great product for babies who need a little more than the average formulas out there.

This is my 3rd baby, she is 3 weeks old, and she does have very freq. spit up, (usually every burp & hicup) and I don't mean just alittle, usually it can add up to 1/2 an ounce or more of formula each feeding. I know how important it is to burp her every ounce but I had to make sure I was covered and the couch was covered up when it came to burping her. This is my 1st time trying a formula with rice starch on one of my children, and I do not see too much of a change. She is now projectile vomiting out of her nose and mouth 1-2 times a day with this formula, it is harder for her to clear it out and catch her breath since the formula is thicker. I will also say that at times, when she does finally burp, nothing comes up and if some formula does come up, it is usually clumpy. I know it is normal for babies to spit up, but this is getting frustrating. My 1st child was a serious spit upper, no formula or intervention could change it. 2nd child had piloric stenosis, (which can cause freq. projectile vomiting), after surgery she still spit up but not as bad as before the surgery. 3rd child, still working on. Hopefully, I can find a solution to this problem and make my baby & me less stressed out.

Comments about Enfamil AR Infant Formula for Spit Up - Powder - 1 Can (22.2 oz):

We switched to Enfamil AR on our pediatrcians recommendation since our son was having frequent spit up but was not yet severe enough to warrant medication.
This has proven to be a lifesaver and my son loves the taste too. His spit up reduced drastically immediately and just disappeared. After around 6-9months of age I tried switching to the subsequent stage of Enfamil formula but he loves the taste of Enfamil AR so much he refuses the others!
Compared to a plain formula preparation this is harder to mix because of its heavier due to the starch, but we soon got a hang of it.
One recommendation would be to use it with a larger size nipple during bottle feeding- that way babies dont have to work as hard to such the thick formula out the stage one nipple that usually works for regular formula.

Comments about Enfamil AR Infant Formula for Spit Up - Powder - 1 Can (22.2 oz):

Helped with our son's GERD, however with how thick it is, when he would vomit or spit up, it would be hard for my son to spit it out.

Also made him a little constipated at first until his system got used to it.

Overall- really helped him not projectile and put on weight!

Comments about Enfamil AR Infant Formula for Spit Up - Powder - 1 Can (22.2 oz):

My 3 month old daughter has been on Enfamil since I stopped breastfeeding at 6 weeks. Unfortunately, I had to try two other kinds of Enfamil before I found her the right one. My daughter developed acid reflux and was basically spitting up everything after each bottle. Worried about her losing weight, I decided to switch to the Enfamil powder formula that included rice(starch) as directed by my pediatrician. The first bottle there was no spitting up and I was impressed! I am so happy now. The first negative is that it doesn't have that "sweetness" to it. So I take it's a little bland to baby. But she's doesn't mind. She just doesn't make that happy hum when she eats because it doesn't include corn syrup(solids). That's how I knew the others tasted good. The second problem is it's so frothy when mixed. I had to make the holes larger in my already med-flow nipples because it seems all she sucks out is bubbles, which resulted in her fussing until I figured it out. What's weird is it stopped giving her the hiccups but takes her forever to burp?! Which she never had that problem. The two other main positives, besides her not spitting up; is it made her a daily pooper. Lastly, it doesn't stink when she eats it. I found the other formulas stunk when she ate it and it left her bottles smelling terrible. Now, I don't have that problem.

Thank you Enfamil!

My doctor recommended that my 4 week old son with Acid reflux use rice cereal in his formula.(My son was extremely fussy during feeding and vomiting to the point out was coming out of his nose)After doing my research i found out that adding rice cereal at that age could cause a huge choking hazard. That terrified me to know end. Then a friend recommended Enfamil A.R and I tried that instead and its been amazing. The rice starch is so much safer than actual rice cereal for my newborn and the spitting has improved tremendously. I love iy and would always recommend it

My daughter was brestfed at first. When we switched to formula it was very hard. She nearly spit up half of it. A.R. changed everything for us. For a while I thought it worked to good! She now spits up a little more because she is crawling, and eating solids.

My 8 week old has acid reflux and was having trouble with spit-up. All the other formulas for gas and sensitive stomachs contain corn syrup and suger which made her acid reflux worse!!! We tryed rice cerial in her formula but it clogged the nipples. We tryed the enfamil A.R. and was hooked. She barely ever spits up, has less heartburn and less tummy upset. Wish I found this product sooner!

After my milk supply dried up I was extremely worried about switching to formula. My son was 2 1/2 months old and was doing beautifully on breast milk. The first feeding with formula (different brand) was awful... Projectile vomiting, diarreha, and extreme fussiness. I tried 6 different kinds of formula until someone suggested Enfamil A.R. to my husband and I. It was an amazing change! He wasn't a spit-up prone baby on breast milk, but now he very rarely spits up. He has no issues with constipation or diarreha anymore. The formula mixes very well and I love how eco-friendly the containers are! I'm so glad we finally found something that Brock could handle!
