Product Details
Dyson DC39 Multi Floor Canister Vacuum
The DC39 Multi Floor Canister Vacuum is engineered with Dyson cyclones that capture more dirt. Featuring Dyson's Radial Root Cyclone technology, reconfigured air channels reduce turbulence and preserve air pressure, so the inner cyclones can extract more microscopic particles and expel cleaner air.

Suitable for all floor types, the DC39's Triggerhead tool is the only turbine head controlled at the handle, so there is no bending down to adjust. A fingertip control switches the brush bar off for delicate rugs and hard floors and switches on for high pick-up on carpets.

Combined with Dyson Ball technology, the DC39 turns on a dime to give you greater control and easily moves around obstacles. The clear bin allows you to see when it's full and empties at the push of a button, minimizing contact with dirt and allergens. DC39 Multi floor has a non-removable HEPA filter. And as with all Dyson vacuum cleaners, DC39 Multi Floor has no loss of suction.

I have been using this machine since January 2013. The first one I bought had a little plastic clip break when I was putting it together. I took it to a local repair and he suggested I return it to Macy's. Macy's Fed Ex'd another within a week. I got this during the Christmas sale so I decided to take the plunge on what seemed like a lot of money for a vacuum. The Pros: This vacuum has great suction. It moves easily and gets into small places. I like the two attachments. The brush gets into corners and baseboard under the bed, etc. It has brought the fun back to vacuuming. The Cons: My first disappointment was how cheaply it appears to be made ... and the clip breaking on the first one purchased. The canister gets dust caught up in places that don't come out when you release it (I have a new appreciation for bags). Do not buy this vacuum if you have carpeted floors or a lot of area rugs. I bought this for hardwoods but on the few area rugs I have the motorized attachment shuts down. It's not a problem with just a few rugs. You simply push the button on the top of the handle and it reduces the suction enough to clean rugs but I would not want to clean an entire carpeted house with this vacuum. Overall I would recommend this vacuum. I am concerned how much dust will eventually collect in the canister that is impossible to get out. I have bad allergies and I can tell it has helped me by reducing the dust. Previously I used a Swiffer duster and I did a test using the Swiffer after vacuuming and it collected almost no dust.

I wish I had not purchased this Dyson. It clogs very easily, and it's a pain to get the clogs out. It fills up easily and I have to repeatedly empty the canister while housecleaning--I only had to do that once every month or so when I used a vacuum that had a bag. Further, the carpet attachment does not work well at all. The brush frequently stops spinning in the middle of vacuuming. When I take it out and look for a clog, half the time there isn't one. Then I put it back together and the brush won't spin at all. I The suction is so strong that it only works with heavy carpeting--it's impossible to vacuum small area rugs with the Dyson. In fact, it sucks up things that are large enough to clog it. OR, the carpet brush stops working correctly and there's barely any suction at all. I am incredibly frustrated that a product with such a good reputation has given me such shoddy performance.

LOVE IT, GREAT CANISTER!!

Comments about Dyson DC39 Multi Floor Canister Vacuum:

This is a great canister vac. I vacuum almost every day and have a large old farmhouse. Some carpet but 70% hardfloors throughout the house. My prior vac was a high end canister. That vac had been to the repair shop many times for body work, wheels, hoses, controls, cords etc. Now this dyson is a newer model so cant say much to longevity, but I love the way this vac is built and how the exterior parts look very easy to replace and possibly be replaced yourself and not necessarily by a shop. For example the wheels have fallen off of all of my canister vacs. This vac rides on a chasse that looks like it can be easily ordered and replaced even if a shop has to do it. Lets face it the wheels, heads cords and hoses are the first things to go over time. It looks like there was a lot of thought put into ease of fixing parts that may wear out over time and with use. Plus the materials used look and feel very sturdy and wellmade from the vac head, hoses and connections. The retractable cord seems to be very well done and sturdy too-but could be 10ft longer, hint hint. That is another function that has always gone out on my canister vacs. As to performance this is a great vac, the suction is tops, it follows nicely, very lightweight, much better than my other canister. Ok and this is my favorite part----NO BAGS!!! I have paid for 10 riccar or miele vacs in bag costs. I am sick of the operating costs on the other high end vacs! NO MORE!!! If you are a canister person you will love this vac. I think most of the nay sayers about this vac are not canister people. That's one of those things that you either love em or hate em. If you have wall to wall carpet throughout your 4500sf house you should probably go for an upright :) Only cons to speak of imo are that the hose could be 10ft longer, I find myself wanting an extension cord when using this vac. For the price- although I searched a long time and bought mine on sale with an extra attachment bundle- the vac should sell with way more attachments than it does. I find that very irritating for the price range of this vacuum. Lastly not the quietest vac I have used, in fact it is quite loud but not enough to be a deal breaker. Overall a 5 star vac that I like more every time I use it!!

Disappointing

Comments about Dyson DC39 Multi Floor Canister Vacuum:

This was a good Vac until I got a little dog, between my wife's long hair and the little dog every time now I vacuum the power Turbine head stops with minimum amount of hair and it takes a while to take apart and clean as it's wont suck properly if the head stops. This Vac maybe a multi floor but it's isn't multi situation, tailor your choice to your household not your floor.

Comments about Dyson DC39 Multi Floor Canister Vacuum:

I own this canister vacuum and I absolutely love it. I think I can explain in a few short sentences. My husband took down the Christmas tree, and the needles were everywhere. I got "into position" and mentally prepared for the utter frustration that follows every year. Four words: One pass, all gone. I stood there in disbelief and amazement. I am so mad at myself for not buying a Dyson sooner. I am now the proud owner of this one, 2 DC41's and a DC34. I can't see how anyone could be disappointed with a Dyson vacuum.

Comments about Dyson DC39 Multi Floor Canister Vacuum:

I love this vaccum and talked my sister and daughters into getting one. One chose the upright my other daughter also did and we bought her the cordless also. She has 4 dogs all sizes and this is wonderful for her. I also am so impressed with the service if you have a problem with a part, mine was replaced no questions asked and they are so helpful. Usually they talk you through what ever it is and it's taken care of. The service is excellent and they stand behind the products. I will never buy anything else. I have 3 dogs and this is a great product I'm amazed at what it picks up everytime. My husband who has never vaccumed before is doing it now.

Comments about Dyson DC39 Multi Floor Canister Vacuum:

Today I bought the display of this vacuum because it was at a price I couldn't deny. I was nervous to use it because I thought it would be like every other vacuum. I was surely mistaken it is the best vacuum cleaner that I have ever owned. It picked up dog hair and dirt I didn't know my other vacuums were leaving behind. I am nothing short of impressed with this device. my favorite thing I own.

Great Product!

Comments about Dyson DC39 Multi Floor Canister Vacuum:

This is a great vacuum. The suction is awesome and it is very easy and light to use. A lot of the negative reviews state that the suction is too strong for area carpets and such. However, the triggers at the top of the extension arm reduce the suction in such situations so you can run the vacuum over area carpets. People just need to use these features and they will see how effective the vacuum is over all surfaces. Also, I had a problem with the turbine head. It stopped spinning so I called Dyson and they sent me a new one which works great, I thought I would have to pay for a new head and was surprised that they were willing to send me another one, no questions asked. Great service in that respect. This is by far the best and easiest vacuum to use that I have ever owned and I have owned a lot of different vacuums through the years. I was skeptical at first but am now convinced.
