I researched sooooo many vacuums my head was spinning. I've been using a Filter Queen for many years for my primary cleaning. I was getting tired of dragging out the canister and setting it up for everyday use. I figured I'd be a hard sell for any vacuum, with Filter Queen's rep. Let me preface by saying that I have two cats ( one with long hair) and two Large Rottwiellers living indoors ; the equals lots of pet hair everywhere. I also have grandchildren that come for weekend visits that suffer with allergies/ breathing disorders. Having said that, filteration, and cleaning power was a must. I was hesitant, to say the least, with all the back and forth reviews the Dyson DC25 had. Well.... I bought one after days of looking at different models and makes. . I vacuumed with my Filter Queen, ran to Lowes and bought the Dyson DC25 Animal. Putting it together was a snap (litterally). I vacuumed my house with the Dyson and was AMAZED at what my high dollar vacuum had left behind. I read some reviews saying the dyson was hard to push, that it didn't pick up debri on hard floors, the attachments fall off easy, among others. Let me say I found the Dyson easy to push around, I used it both on my carpets and rugs,(glided easily from carpet to rug) as well as on my travertine floors, and it got all the hair balls, and cat litter from the hard floors with no problem.. The tools have a click in thingy, you just have to seat them properly. The dust bin could be a little larger but really not a big deal. I wish it came with more accesories like the flex crevice tool, and the dusting tool. Although, the edge cleaning this baby has is pure bliss. The ball makes it easy to get around and into places. I was actually pleasantly surprised where it would go, for an upright. My house and carpet smelled better after I used it. And it actually made vacuuming fun for me. Remember I've been pulling a canister around for years. All I can say is that I wish I'd have made this purchase sooner instead of developing a severe headache reading all the nay sayer reviews. I love this vacuum!!! I need to vacuum everday with the pets in the house. Now it will be less of a chore and more fun. Go get a Dyson, it's a gem.

We had many recommendations from family for this vaccum, so we bought it without doing much other research. I am disappointed in the performance for a number of reasons. I will start with the strengths - there aren't that many: The tool storage is nice for the accessories, the handheld wand is very powerful and works well for cracks, etc. And the ball manuevers very well, but read below for more on that. 1) The canister - Pet Hair: We bought the animal model because we have a Golden Retriever. Her hair gets sucked up - but when trying to empty the canister the hair all remains at the top and you have to dig your hand in all the way to the top to get it out. Gross and not very practical - if I wanted to do that, I would have just used a $5 broom. Size of Canister: my fault for not researching, but you have to empty this canister multiple times throughout a whole house cleaning because it is so much smaller than a bag, I was used to emptying a bag every 3 months or so. Emptying is dirty: in order to get all the debris out of the canister you have to shake it into a garbage bag, and even then fine dirt powder winds up still stuck all over the sides - all the fine dust and dirt wind up "poofing" out into the air then ultimately back onto the carpet. 2) Sucking power We bought this right before Christmas, and now with 2 big DRY trees just taken out of the house the needles were everywhere. I still have my old Kenmore Progressive, even though it is held together with Duct tape, I finally gave up on the Dyson and used only my old vaccum because the Dyson was pulling up about 1/4 of what the Kenmore was in one pass - and refer to the above on the size, I emptied it 3 times in about 15 minutes. My bag of the old vaccum is about 1/4 full and I used it for 75% of the job 3) The ball While it does manuever nicely, if you are picking up fine things, like dirt, sand, GLITTER, it winds up static attracting the mess and spreading it to another part of the carpet. I am returning this vacuum today and will have to research a new vacuum a litte better.

What a great machine. Just got it home a few days ago and it is superb. We have two big dogs that shed a lot and this Animal 25 picks up all the hair and tracked in dirt. I don't understand why it is being discontinued? It is also great because we have lots of wood floors and also lots of rug area, does both very well. thanks Dyson!

I've only used this a handful of times so far and cannot believe how well this thing sucks!!! After the first use in a room that gets frequently vacuumed, I couldn't believe how much extra dirt came out! Fantastic! Easy to use, easy to empty- and I do have to say, it's kind of pretty!!

I have owned the Cadillac of vacuums (the brand that starts with a K) for a number of years with, what I thought was, great results. However, it was extremely heavy and burdensome to switch to using its tools. After buying a number of lighter, cheaper models which provided only mediocre results, I finally gave in and bought a Dyson. Only shock and awe can describe my first experience! With my first run, the amount of dust and dirt pulled from my seemingly clean carpets was truly shocking...and quite disturbing! This machine has incredible, unmatched vacuum power. The on board tools are so easy to use. Our rugs and ten-year-old carpets look practically brand new now. Thank you, Dyson!

I cannot believe how great this vaccum works. I have 2 short haired dogs that shed everywhere. I received my Dyson and immediately put it together very quickly and easily and began. It is easy to use and I could not believe all the hair/dirt it pulled out of my carpets. When I used it on marble and tile floors it did NOT blow the hair around and make a bigger mess. I also received the pet hair instrument I am using it but it is a little difficult to use with the stiff wand. Maybe you can send a flexible attachment with it to go between the wand and the tool to make it easier to use on pets. That is my only suggestion. I would recommend it to anyone with pets or not.

Love, love this vacuum. Whet it arrived I used my old Electrolux canister vacuum cleaner first. Then I used my new dyson, I could not believe what it pulled up. So glad I purchased it.

this vac is light and very easy to use. the suction is tremendous and maintains even as the dirt cup fills. the tools and wand are easy to access w/o having to change any settings. the only drawbacks we have found in three weeks of use are : the power cord could be a little longer and the crevice tool does not extend far enough to suck our golden retriever's fur from under the fridge. but otherwise this is far and away the best vacuum cleaner we've owned

I hesitated to purchase a Dyson because of the cost factor. However, after my old vacuum broke down, I decided to bite the bullet and after much cost comparing, I purchased the DC25 Animal Dyson. I vacuumed the carpet in my living room and had to empty the bin 2 times! I am a believer! It is the best vacuum I have ever owned, hands down! Light weight and easy to use, and cleans like a commercial vacuum. ,I havent had cats for 2 years, and I was vacuuming up cat hair again! My only issue is there are so many models its hard to pick one! You wont be disappointed if you choose Dyson. As the saying goes, "You get what you pay for."

I really like my DC25 Animal. I was shocked at how much fur and dirt was picked up the first time I used it. And each time since it picks up lots of fur and dirt. I think the house smells better after using and the carpet looks better. I've only used the attachments once but they worked really well and picked up the dirt in hard to reach places.

I just recently puchased my DC25. I must say I was impressed with it's performance. I couldn't stop cleaning the carpets that I thought were cleaned as I just took down my Christmas tree. I was totaly impressed with how much the DC25 picked up after I used a strong regular vacuum clean and a commercial vacuum. You have made a great product.

I love the Dyson DC 25 that I recently purchased. The ball is the best innovation that you have ever developed. The only complaint I have is that the cord is not long enough. The cord on my old Dyson would reached my whole house. Thank you.
