Dinty Moore Beef Stew - 1 Can (24 oz)
1 Can = 24 oz (1lb. 8 oz) 680 g; Beef Stew. Made with fresh potatoes and carrots. Preservative free. Makes soup look soupy. US inspected and passed by Department of Agriculture.

  • 1 Can of 24 oz (1lb. 8 oz) 680 g
  • Ingredients: Beef Gravy (Water, Beef Broth, Beef, Tomatoes, [Water, Tomato Paste], Corn Flour, Salt, Modified Food Starch, Caramel Colorings, Sugar, Flavoring), Beef, Potatoes, Carrots.
  • Stovetop: Empty beef stew into saucepan. Heat to simmering over Medium heat, stirring occasionally. Microwave: Empty beef stew into microwave-safe bowl; cover. Heat on High (100% power) 4-1/2 to 5 minutes or until hot, stirring after 3 minutes. Stir before serving. Note: All microwave ovens vary. Times given are approximate.

          I fondly remember Dinty Moore stew from childhood so I picked up a can. Not impressed at all. I'd like a better representation of carrots and peas. Gristle in a few pieces of the meat. It had an almost overwhelming beefy taste - yes, I know it's beef stew, but everything tasted the same - the beef, the carrots (all 3 pieces), the potatoes...I think I'll reach for a can of Chunky Soup Sirloin Burger when I'm looking for better sauce, veggies with individual taste and better variety, and still enough meat to satisfy. (In hindsight I see that Chunky soup has far less fat and fewer calories, if this is something that matters to you.)

          Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

            I'm busy and like to have full bodied and nourishing meals readily available. I spend my time boating so it is nice to have something I can toss in the microwave and go sail the waves! It has plenty of carrots, but, I will cut up some organic carrots & onions and them to the stew because I love my veggies. I also like to grind organic tellicherry black peppercorns on my Dinty Moore stew for that extra zing. The whole family loves this stew and they are a tough crowd to please, believe you me!

            Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
