Safety features: The steam release valve allows you to release pressure quickly while the locking pin prevents the lid from being opened while under pressure. Unit automatically shuts off when pressure has exceeded its maximum. Pressure regulator is forced upward if pressure exceeds its maximum. The inner cooking pot will be forced down and the pressure will escape between the inner pot and the rubber gasket if necessary. Condensation reservoir collects extra liquid.
