    I have had this product for several years. It has increased my cat's water intake immensely. When I had it right next to his food, he would drop food in there, and I had to clean it frequently, which I didn't like. So I moved it, and now once a week cleaning is plenty --- in fact I could leave it longer than that. It is easy to clean with a toothbrush or similar small brush for the small areas. I highly recommend this product!

          Based on veterinarian recommendations I decided to get a pet fountain for my cats. This product was a complete waste of time and money on my part. It is so poorly constructed that getting any water to come down the slide is impossible because the pieces do not fit together. The suction cups on the bottom of the pump do not hold. I basically ended up with a [$] plastic water bowl because it does not work properly. I will not consider ever buying a product from Petmate again.

          Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
