Purchased this maker a few years back because it would sit on the counter under the cabnets and you did not have to pull it out to fill it with water. I just recently started noticing the heat pad was rusting. I guess if we had wiped it out after each use it would not have done that but with the rust it is time to repair or purchase new. We like everything else about the product.

I purchased two of these coffee maker for my office and they worked fine for a few months, then they BOTH started to leak and spew coffee everywehre. Eventually I got really tired of cleaning up our break room and ditched both pots, they were not cheap, my friend who is a Mr. Fix It, looked at the pots and realized that the plastic head (where the water drips into the coffee) was warped and this was the cause of the spewing. I looked on line and there are so many similar reviews I think this is just a bad design, overall the pot is very sturdy, impressive looking and the caraf is very well made. So you have to ask, but what good is all of that if the simplest part of the operation is faulty?

I really like the coffee maker, but my only complaint is that it is quite slow, but the coffee is very good. I think due to the longer brew time you are able to use less grounds. For all the cofee I drink that is a savings in the long run.
