        Really easy to put together. Small screws hold the cross piece but they have very little function beside hold the small plastic cross piece in place.

          These were quick to set up and use, although the glue holding the pads onto the step didn't hold through shipping. Two of the pads were off when I got the step. The other two fell off after two days of use. I've glued them back on since. The balance board just sits on the step, so it's easy to change between using the step and not.
          The carpet extenders don't fit in the step holes, so you have to remove them each time, but since they snap on and off, it takes less than a minute. The step holes have another downfall. They don't register all your steps. You still feel the workout, but you don't get all the credit on the game. It's inconvenient, but I find the improved workout outweighs it. I haven't yet tried the fix I have read on others' reviews.
          I said I would recommend this product to a friend, but it would depend on the reason: yes, if they were looking for a more intense workout and didn't care about the game's feedback; and no, if they really wanted the step to play a given game and needed it to be consistent.

              Once you get accustomed to doing steps on the balance board, add this to intensify your workout. It's strong and sturdy. Does not slip. Definetly works out the legs muscles even better.
