cheap and easy and puts out a lot of light. the sliding back is nice so you can focus the light forward or open it to use as an all around light source

This light is excellent,i have been using it practically every night since i got it and the light still has not dimmed on me!! i am seriously going to get a few more! this is an excellent lamp for any sort of emergency,it's plenty bright enough to read by or to do just about any task where light is needed, my dad has borrowed it for working on his vehicle since its so small he can use it while under the vehicle and it wont heat up and burn him (we actually had one of those corded type automotive lights melt)and its much safer for children to use(and fun), since there's nothing on this that can come loose and get lost, its pretty durable too, and it wont start a fire! my only issue, and this is really just my preference is that Coleman should have made a metal handle instead of the plastic one, i can see the pegs that hold the handle might eventually break, but other than that it's a great design, and the price was excellent, cheap enough to buy several for your house, garage, and vehicles! perfect for camping since it is very light and slim and can easily fit in even a small backpack or messenger bag (or purse, or even a medium size fanny pack).Overall a 10/10!

These little lights really put out the light. I got one for each kid so that they can stay up reading, if they like or carry around to light their way in the dark.

I bought the lantern to use when our electricity goes out -- which it does a couple times a year. I thought it would provide more light than it does. I probably should have known by the size it would not light up an entire room but was expecting a bit more light than it puts out. I trust the Coleman brand name and am satisfied with the quality, just wish it put out more light.

I cant say enough good things about this lantern, i bought it thinking eh, it's [$] if it's no good it wont be a big deal, when i got it two things surprised me, one its much smaller than i thought it was,(a good thing) and two it's incredibly well made, all the tolerances on it are super tight and streamlined, You cant beat the amount of quality for the price, im thinking about getting a few more for my car, this thing is so small it can go anywhere! this is definitely going to see a LOT of use and im sure it can take whatever i can throw at it!, kudoes to both coleman and meijers for making and selling such a high value item!

I originally bought it to keep in my truck in the event that I needed to change a flat tire at night. Well this past weekend, I was bowfishing on a small river in Arkansas in a small flatbottom boat. I had left my headlight at my house so I had to bring the lantern along as a miscellaneous light to use if the spotlight went out. There were two of us, a 12-volt batter, a few dead fish, my sandals, a bow with a spotlight mounted on it in the boat. After about an hour, we capsized the boat in about four foot of water and everything sank to the bottom except for the 12-volt battery, which I grabbed and lifted out. We quickly got the bow and battery to the bank and then went back out for the boat. I lost the lantern and my sandals but that was about it. The next day, we canoed down the river, which was crystal clear. When we got to the area where we capsized, we slowed and sure enough, I saw the lantern setting on the bottom. I dove in and picked it up. It was filled with water but when I hit the button to turn it on, it lit right up. None of my friends could believe that I let a lantern set in the water overnight and it still worked.
