Comments about Coleman Exponent Kraz X1 1-Person Tent:

Excellent tent for the price. Has good ventilation, have not had any condensation problems.Found a little leakage after a 3 day rain deluge.Cured it by seam sealing the fly. This tent is very easy to set up, has nice vestibule space for its size, and doesn't feel cramped for my 5'10" length.Excellent price and[...] by meijer a bonus.

Comments about Coleman Exponent Kraz X1 1-Person Tent:

This tent is almost all it's advertised as. I wanted a tent that was lighter than a Timberline tent but big enough to roll over in at night! The design is well thought out as are the extras which are included...unique tent stakes, repair sleeve for the aluminum poles, fairly high "ceiling" and a repair patch with glue. The "vestibule" is only big enough for boots, etc...no cooking or pack. The only thing I would improve would be the flaps that meet together to seal up the rainfly. They engage only a few inches, which would leak onto the netting during a windy shower. I am glad to see Coleman making equipment for the backpacker once again.

Comments about Coleman Exponent Kraz X1 1-Person Tent:

This tent is almost all its advertised as. The instructions are useless, but an experienced backpacker will be able to set this up easily. The tent is not geometrically equal (which is good as it allows easier entry) and the insertion of the poles can be confusing the first time setting up. The factory has actually color coded the clips and poles to make this logical, although this is not mentioned in the setup "instructions" (merely a printed flap inside the stuff bag)Extras include a repair sleeve for the aluminum poles and a repair kit. The aluminum stakes are also unique, well designed for clay or hard packed soil. Coleman has catered to car campers a lot lately, and this is a great move forward for backpackers who want a light tent with some room to be able to roll over at night! The only improvement I would suggest for future models would be to extend the area where the rainfly flaps meets; it would leak onto the netting below with a rainy headwind. Do not expect any storage/cooking space, the rainfly serves only as a means for ventilation. This tent would be well served on a backpacking trip where weight is a primary consideration. One would be well advised to include some extra braided line to attach to the staking loops, as it is hard to find the perfect "footprint" in the mountains.
