Great little stove. I bought this for my son who is beginning to go backpacking with me. Not as light as others on the market, but carries enough fuel for an overnight. I have a much earlier version of this stove and have used it extensively. This model is much lighter!

I use this product while backpacking in the wilderness. It's not always practical (or legal) to cook over a campfire, and this stove allows me to enjoy hot food in the middle of nowhere.

Things that are great about it:
* When it's packed up for storage and transportation it makes a solid unit, rather than having floppy hoses, a small grill unit stored separately from the fuel source, etc.
* Refillable fuel source; you don't have to go to a specialty store or buy disposable cartridges that then have to be packed out once they're depleted.
* Inexpensive; generally speaking, this product retails for really substantially less than any product that I could find of superior quality.

Not-so-great:
* It's a little on the heavy side. It's not like carrying a big rock in your pack, but for the ultra-light packers or minimalists, this product really isn't appropriate.

This stove isn't amazing unless you're comparing it to other comparably priced items, in which case it's very impressive. It should be at least adequate for any but the most hardcore lightweight freaks.

This is a good stove. I used it on motorcycle trips as I can always get unleaded gas. Packs away nice.

This is a great little stove that is easy to start and quick to setup and put away. It's a durable one piece design that will last forever compared to other backpacking stoves. I considered buying an MSR stove but wasn't willing to pay twice as much. The weight of the coleman is actually about the same or less than the MRS stoves once you add the fuel tank to the MSR. I am glad I chose the coleman stove. It is great for backpacking, tent camping, or for a picnic. The only thing I don't like is the small fill cap. It can be easy to spill fuel when filling it up. This is a small issue and is avoidable once you buy a cheap little funnel to fill it up with. I recommend this stove for just about anything.

A no non-sense stove, that will burn gasoline or Coleman fuel. I use it for camping, but will also serve in an emergency situation. Like not putting parts together, pump it up & ready to use. I also have Optimus 8 r backpack stove, and prefer Coleman.
