I was a Scout leader for 12 years, and our family has been tent camping since 1988. All these years we had a 12x14 canvas cabin tent. We finally wore out the door zipper and decided to upgrade. In July, 2009 we purchased the Coleman Weathermaster 6 Screened Tent. I researched tents for over a month before this purchase. We are very pleased and would buy it again. Also, Meijer had the best price, by far, of any internet store or retailer. We also liked the Columbia Cougar Flats II, but it did not have the hinged door or screen room and was never on sale for the price we paid for this tent. They normally sell for about the same price.Things we like about the tent:1. Hinged D front door is extremely convenient and works great. This was the main attraction to this tent. (Some other Coleman tents also have it.)2. Excellent weather proofing such as tub floor, inverted seams, factory taped seams, zipper covers, etc.3. Plenty of windows with full zip flaps, and the whole roof is screened under the fly. Leave the fly off for a full view of the night sky and coolness.4. Excellent head room due to straight walls and arched roof. Can walk around entire tent and screen room without scraping your head.5. Roomy 9x11 tent area. We had a full size air bed, two folding chairs, a small table, 4 bags of gear and still had walking room all around.6. Attached 6x9 screen room with inverted T doors into tent and to outside. (no floor)7. Power cord port8. Cool air/cooler access port on back9. Lightweight steel shock-corded color-coded poles and full sleeves to attach tent.10. Easy set up and take down11. Zippers all work very smoothly12. Divider wall with door for separating tent area into two rooms13. Two small inside gear pockets, one on front side and one on back side14. Separate bags for stakes, poles, and tent. (Also includes a doormat) All fit into one large bag.Things would like to have:1. Storm flaps on screen room might be nice.2. Maybe a floor in the screen room. (We have a 12x12 screen house that has a floor and storm flaps on all sides. Each has its advantages.)3. Screen room could be a bit bigger, but it's a good size. We placed a folding table and two chairs in one side and had plenty of room for walking around. Six could eat in it but it would be a little tight. Four would be comfortable.Overall, we love this tent, especially at the great price Meijer's had during the summer sale. It has plenty of room for my wife and I, and would be comfortable enough for two more. If you are looking for a convenient, easy, quality tent, you can't go wrong with this one. It is also available in the Elite model which includes a battery operated ceiling mounted fluorescent light kit and automatic rolling windows. (See [@] for more info.)

Camped in state park. First time set up was very easy. And first night we endured winds and light rain with no issue. We used two twin air mattresses to make a king which fit comfortably in room. Screened area protected all our gear from rain (note, that area does not have a floor). Got great deal from Meijer on price. Buying another...

This tent is easy to use and has lots of space and compartments for privacy. It's a bit heavy for packing, but great for tailgaters like me. Sets up quickly and easily.

Great for a family with kids

Screend in area great for eating when bugs are bothersome or to avoid light rain

Platic stakes bend and break easily, but that's really the only downside

            Comments about Coleman 17x9 WeatherMaster 6-Person Screened Tent Brown 17 x 9:

This tent is very roomy and can easily fit two queen size air mattresses. With the windows open, the tent stays very cool even in hot summer weather. Overall, it's a great investment. The only downside is putting the tent together. The poles are bulkier than most tents and it's hard to put together by yourself. You will definitely need 3 to 4 people.
