My kids and their friends love when I use this pesto! We stir it into pasta and add cut up grape tomatoes. A little goes a long way and an opened jar stores well in the refrigerator! Just add a little olive oil if you need to perk it up! I also spread it on flour tortillas and top with chopped cooked chicken, leftover asparagus, chopped tomatoes and romano cheese, top with another tortilla, heat in the oven and serve. A quick and easy lunch. I've used it in too many ways to remember--makes it so easy to be creative! I hope they never take it off the market!

This product has all of the main ingredients I look for when I buy pesto -- basil, garlic, olive oil, romano, pine nuts -- but the taste is just all wrong. Perhaps it's the soybean oil or other flavorings, but this one seems a little lacking... Not that "fresh" pesto zing that I crave.Still, I like most of the ingredients, and it's usually priced between [$]. So it's a great buy.I keep it on hand for parties and mix-ins for pizzas and pasta sauces. I would never use it on its own as a sandwich spread or anything I wanted to be truly amazing. It simply cannot stand alone without being blended into something. All in all, it's a quality pesto at an amazingly low price per ounce.

Comments about Classico Traditional Basil Pesto - 1 Jar (8.1 oz):

For a quick pasta meal this pesto delivers. I added petite diced tomatoes and some olive oil to the pesto that I stirred into my linguine. This gave me time to toast up some garlic foccacia, pour the wine and dine.

I have made pesto in the summer when I have fresh basil in the garden, but it is a cold day in the end of January. The Classico could be brightened up with a fresh squeeze of lemon after tossing with pasta.

Could be good for pesto pizza bread or tossed with fresh ravioli.

Comments about Classico Traditional Basil Pesto - 1 Jar (8.1 oz):

I had high hopes for this product as it is from classico but this pesto is extremely bitter xp I would rate it higher by the price but I have never tasted pesto this bad EVER before in my life. I said finally a pesto that I can buy that isnt going to cost 5$ min but this takes some real shortcuts. My guess is the high levels of soybean oil (which nobody ever wants). Great packaging though hey it got me to buy it. Will repurpose this jar though its a nice size.

This is absolutely awful, all I could taste was acidity and garlic - none of the basil or nut flavors. I don't know how they could even call it pesto, it doesn't taste like any pesto I have ever had, whether in Italy or in the US.

Comments about Classico Traditional Basil Pesto - 1 Jar (8.1 oz):

I use this pesto all the time. I currently do not have a food processor or blender to attempt to make my own pesto, so this is the best pesto I have found off the shelf! I cook a bag of frozen ravioli and stir in the whole jar and I have dinner! Sometimes we mix it with shrimp and pasta also. It is very quick and easy to change up your dinner routine with a product like this.
