    My 11 year old son goes skating at the skating rink every Friday and these are so much more comfortable than the rental skates! He loves them and they look very nice. It was hard to find skates that weren't babyish or really expensive. These were just what we were looking for.

      The bearings are ABEC1 - that's the SLOWEST bearing you can buy. Most rental skates are faster than these!! Save your money and do your research!
      If you're going to be racing, or using your skates more than a couple times a week, or if you are over 175 pounds, buy a skate with an aluminum plate, because the nylon plates will NOT hold up.

        I began to skate as a favorite hobby as a child. I forgot how fun it was when I became an adult, so I purchased a pair of Meijer skates to rekindle an old flame. Boy, did it take me some falls to get used to skating again. However,I'm very happy my driveway is smoother than my street. I practice everyday since I purchased them.

              Bought these for my 13 year old son. He is not a beginner but these are perfect for the roller rink. He says the wheels are a little tight, so I need to get them adjusted, but for the price, not bad skates.

                  These were for my two sons, 11 and 12. They are good value for the money. They were expecting skating rink quality skates, so these were returned. However, they did try them on on the house and they had no complaints, just that they were not for heavy use in a skating rink. The stoppers are for basic use and not pro version. Good value for money, since these go for an add'l $20 more elsewhere.
