I purchased the Casio W7533AV with a gift card with a bunch of other watches; long story. Short story: This watch is my favorite of the bunch.

First, I've found this to be the most comfortable watch I've worn in a while. Although a leather band has traditionally been most comfortable for me, the angle and cut of the plastic on this model fits me very well. Best test? I can fall asleep with it on, and not know it, or remember it's there when I wake up.

While not too difficult to program, I found the lunar and tide tables a little odd for a North American; to set them for Michigan, I had to (?) use coordinates for Miami. I must also add that although I am an avid inshore fisherman, I have not found a practical use for the moon/tide display yet. As for using the degree markers to find direction, I'll leave that for experienced orienteers to judge.

Fortunately, this watch offers a clear display of the date, day, and time. The digits are crisp, solid, and easy to read. The BIG "light" button on the front is simplicity itself, and avoids the "which button of four do I push?" question of a lot of watches. I do wish the light would display for more than two seconds, but considering that the light is used rarely, if at all, this is a minor issue.

The buttons on this model are easy to push, but firm enough to avoid accidental function. I do wish that the stopwatch function was earlier in the mode menu (it starts with moon, tide, and alarm, THEN stopwatch), but again, I can live with this.

I like the watch, and plan to use it more than the other watches I picked, mostly due to it's comfort factor. The band is flexible without being floppy, smooth without being slippery, and light without being weak. It is well-designed for my wrist shape (admittedly, this will not apply the same for everyone), and contains no edges, projections, or ridges that draw uncomfortable attention to itself. Combined with the ease of display, the comfort of this watch makes it a winner for me.

That said, I really dislike Casio's instruction booklet--a 1.5 x 3-inch dictionary of 56 pages of how to program and use the watch. Admittedly, you need instructions to use all of the functions, but I found the instructions sometimes vague, hard to find (flipping through tiny pages), and much too focused on the moon/tide/direction/azimuth functions. I would have preferred the primary functions of any watch (at least for this reviewer), being time, date, alarm(s) and stopwatch.

Fussing aside, I really like the Casio a lot; even the funky silver/black with orange buttons--and it will probably become my primary non-office watch.

I love this watch and it's functions for international beach travel - it is everything that usual well-made Casio watches have to work out and wear casually, BUT it has tide and moon phases, which we need when we travel to the beaches of Central and South America. I LOVE THIS WATCH for its beauty as a mult-sex product (my husband wants to steal it) and for its multiple functions that are almost too packed into such a wonderful, efficient, well-made product. I love it LOVE IT LOVE IT!

I have been pleasantly surprised with this watch. The lunar and tidal phase features are not in any way something I require in a watch, but I enjoy having them there and they were a big reason I bought it just because they look so cool. The watch is easy to read and the stopwatch, timer, etc work well. Sometimes the button presses required for certain functions are less than intuitive, but overall it's fairly easy to use. I wish the manual had been more specific about some of the values you need for lunar/tidal indicator setup - some sample values would have helped. Overall look of the watch is fairly stylish. For the price I am very happy.
