An excellent lightweight choice, Carhartt's canvas work short is made of 7-1/2 oz, 100% cotton canvas with a 10" inseam. The left leg features a hammer loop and ruler pocket while the right leg includes a pocket for a cell phone or tools, plus a utility band. It also has extra wide belt loops. The back pockets feature reinforced seams.

    I am a switch-trucker, which means I'm in and out of my semi about 15-25 times a day. I have ripped many, many pairs of shorts in my job. These shorts have a durability far beyond just regular shorts. I have gotten them caught on many things and they have yet to rip apart on me.
