  • Ingredients: Idaho Potatoes (Idaho is a registered trademark of the Idaho Potato Commission.), Maltodextrin, Whey, Dried Onion, Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Modified Tapioca Starch, Dried Cheddar Cheese (Milk, Cheese Cultures, Salt, Enzymes), Salt, Corn Starch, Nonfat Milk, Mono and Diglycerides, Monosodium Glutamate, Disodium Phosphate, Citric Acid, Dextrose, Dried Blue Cheese (Milk, Cheese Cultures, Salt, Enzymes), Natural Flavor, Yellow Lakes 5, and, 6, Butter (Sweet Cream), Egg, Wheat Flour, Soy Flour, Freshness Preserved by Sodium Bisulfite, BHT, Tocopherol and Ascorbyl Palmitate.
  • You will need: 1 lb lean ground beef (you can use 1 lb ground turkey instead of ground beef), 1-2/3 cups hot water, 2 tbsp margarine or butter, 2/3 cup milk (for topping).
  • Directions: 1. Brown ground beef in 10" nonstick skillet; drain. Stir in hot water, margarine and potatoes. Heat to boiling over High heat, stirring constantly, until margarine is melted. 2. Reduce heat to medium-high; press potatoes and beef evenly. Cook uncovered, without turning or stirring, until liquid is absorbed and most of bottom is brown (browning may take as few as 5 minutes or as many as 7 minutes; some potatoes will not be brown. (Because range tops and skillets differ, you may need to adjust heat and cook times.) Meanwhile, stir milk and topping mix in bowl 30 seconds (mixture will not be smooth); set aside. 3. Cut small sections with edge of pancake turner (smaller sections make turning easier). Slide turner under each section and turn over (mixture will not hold together perfectly). Press firmly and continue cooking about 2 minutes or until most of bottom is brown. 4. Remove from heat. Pour topping over mixture in skillet (do not stir in). Serve immediately.
