With increasing numbers of people diagnosed with hypertension and heart conditions, we agree with our consumers that offering a lower sodium product is the right thing to do. The challenge has been to create a heart-healthier recipe that actually tastes good. We think we have met the challenge! Made with certified organic elbow pasta and creamy mild cheddar cheese. Annie's Lower Sodium Macaroni and Cheese will provide a real comfort food experience - delicious taste with the added comfort of knowing that this meal is lower in sodium. - Ingredients: Organic Wheat Macaroni, Cheddar Cheese (Cultured Pasteurized Milk, Salt, Non-Animal Enzymes), Whey, Buttermilk, Salt, Cream, Natural Flavor, Natural Sodium Phosphate, Annatto Extract for Natural Color.
- Keep in a cool, dry place. Annie's Way in 10 Minutes: 1. Boil: 6 cups water in a medium saucepan. 2. Stir In: pasta, bring to boil again. 3. Cook: 8-10 minutes or until done. While pasta is cooking. 4. Measure: 1/4 cup lowfat milk in a measuring cup. Add cheese and stir until smooth. 5. Drain: pasta in colander. Return to saucepan. 6. Pour: cheese sauce over pasta and stir well. Enjoy! Annie's Suggestions: For a richer flavor, add 2 tablespoons unsalted butter. For a tangier taste, replace milk with 1/2 cup lowfat yogurt. And to support family farms, use organic milk, butter, and yogurt!
