          They are suitable for everyday use. They're attractive, very organic looking. At first there was a very strong bamboo odor to them, but that went away after a couple of weeks (I hung them in the garage for that time).

          There are small spaces between the slats, so these mats won't protect the table from liquid spills, but I think they do a good job of protecting the table from hot plates.

          Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
