Comments about ALPS Axis 4-Person Tent:

This tent allows me to extend my camping season by several weeks. I camped this fall and I was very comfortable. It rained twice and the tent was completely watertight. I put all my equipment inside the tent since it was rainy and I had room in the front for a full size chair and small side table.
The vestibule is pretty small. I didn't put anything out there.
The quality of the tent and poles is terrific.

Comments about ALPS Axis 4-Person Tent:

This is a great tent for family car camping or anywhere that does not involved carrying far. IT has a very comfortable space for 4 adults and regular women can stand inside. Insulation is great even at rain and cold weather. Great value for what its worth.

this tent works great..sturdy and keeps u dry in a downpour. plenty of room for three people and lots of gear and a huge vestibule... standing room on one end makes changing clothes so easy... it is a little complicated to set up the first time. but has a diagram sewn into the bag so not bad... my favorite tent so far..

Comments about ALPS Axis 4-Person Tent:

This is a great tent at a great price. Definitely not a backpacking tent as its a bit heavy but it is a great car camping tent. As with most tents, the capacity is overstated in terms of comfort. I got this to fit 2 people comfortably. The first time I used this tent it rained all three days we were there and the tent pad was poorly graded so one third the tent was in a puddle. The tent never leaked and we stayed dry. I did seal all the seams even though they were taped but this tent took wind and rain without any issues. I love it and look forward to many more camping trips.

Comments about ALPS Axis 4-Person Tent:

Just spent a week living in this tent at Scout Camp in the North Carolina mountains. It's comfortable, easy to set up, easy to live in, and fully waterproof. The first three days and nights at camp, we got several inches of rain, and a good bit of wind a couple of nights. I set the tent up with the fitted floorsaver (footprint) from ALPS, and guyed out the sides and staked out the vestibules Sunday when we arrived. The tent stayed dry and comfortable on the inside all week, and I did not even have to tighten the guylines or restake anything all week, either. I did not do any additional seam taping or rainproofing prior to camp, either, so this is just how it comes out of the package. I'll be adding another layer annually, as is my normal practice for all my tents, but this tent performed very well right out of the box.

I used this primarily because I wanted a closed tent to prevent spiders from getting in at night, unlike the military style tents available at Scout camp. I set up a twin air mattress along one side, and a bag chair, fplding mini-table, and my duffle on the other side. Plenty of room to sit/stand to get dressed, and even room to sit in my chair and read via flourescent lantern when it was raining outside. Like all tents, the rating for number of people is using flat pads, but this tent will actually sleep four adults side-by-side, if you are using backpack style thin foam mattresses. Using twin air mattresses, two will fit with a narrow aisle between them, and leave room at the head/foot of the mattresses for gear and such. Using the flatter style camping mattresses which are only 20" wide instead of 30, four adults could sleep in this, though it would be tight. Three adults would be comfortable, with some room to spare. Using the vestibules for gear/shoes makes this tent seem a lot bigger than it is. I had a cooler, boots, shoes, and other gear in about half of the bigger vestibule, and was still able to get in and out of the tent without having to step over stuff.

This is the seventh piece of ALPS gear I've owned, and it fully meets my expectation for being worth well more than the price paid. As outdoor gear goes, few brands offer the level of quality and features for the price as ALPS. I highly recommend this tent.
