Childproof top prevents you from dipping or pumping out water. The dispensing hose is right at bottom and clogs from dirt; hose is also flimsy and kinks. Drain hose is flimsy plastic that doesn't stay open and runs under barrel and out front. Attractive, but after buying this one I purchased 4 other rain barrels made from food 60 gal food shipping containers; love them!

There isn't a very good selection of rain barrels to choose from. This is the cheaper of the ones we looked at on the internet. No one stocks them in the stores near us.
I was surprised at how much water we captured in one rainfall. We attached a hose to the overflow for runoff to other areas and used the hose on the barrel to fill watering cans.

Bought 4 of these when they were on sale. Kept 3 and gave one as a gift. They are extremely handy. Have not had to use my metered water since installing them!! I love the fact that you can paint them with the Krylon Fusion Paint. I did so to better match my house. (Less obtrusive!) I also had stands made to get them up off the ground for increased water pressure. The stands were very cheap to make. These are exactly what I wanted and have exceeded by expectations. Neighbors like them too! They work for me!!!
