    The construction is equivalent to that of cherry corner shelves Target had offered several years ago, but priced better. No problems with assembly--everything lined up well. Minor laminate denting.

    Please be advised that the product had a distinctly skunky odor to it. We initially thought this was some part of the manufacturing process with the laminate and assumed it would dissipate. The smell has gotten better gradually over the course of several weeks, but the first two weeks had us scrambling for the air freshener--as it overpowered our bedroom.

    Meijer did contact the manufacturer for us, and they claim the odor is normal and not a hazard. They offered to send us boxes to ship the shelves back, but we've decided it isn't worth the time/effort at this point.
