Comments about 26-Inch Schwinn Lakeshore Womens Cruiser Bike:

This bike was a Mother's day present, and not ridden very often. On the 4th time it was ridden, as the gears were being changed, the whole mechanism on the back wheel, bent up around and landed in the spokes of the back wheel. We had to drag the whole bike about a 1/2 mile back home. We attempted to take it back to Meijer, only to be told that they would not take it back without the receipt. Not even store credit. I would not recommend any Schwinn bikes as I found out that they are no longer made in the USA.

Comments about 26-Inch Schwinn Lakeshore Womens Cruiser Bike:

i bought this bike for my wife. It seemed fine for the first few short rides. Then one day we go to go for a ride and the rear tire is flat, I found the tire had a hole in the tube. Further inspection found sharp edge's and I had to fix that. Then we go on vacation and the derailer falls off and jams into the spokes, bends the frame and destroys the chain. Hand to carry this heavy bike almost a mile. A real piece of junk.

Comments about 26-Inch Schwinn Lakeshore Womens Cruiser Bike:

I got this for Mother's Day/Birthday present and with in a couple of weeks the rear derailer fell off. I thought I was out of a new purple bike like I wanted. Then I was looking at a Meijer receipt and it said 90 days to return an item purchase. So I called the store cause I did not have the original receipt and they said they could look it up with my credit card. So I got in there and they said they needed an item #. So I took it to another Meijer and they said cause it looked bad they couldn't take it back. I said well it broke that is why it looks bad. They said well the other store made it so you have to deal with them. So I went back to the Meijer where I bought it later and they found the product # on the tire looked it up and gave me my money back. Thank you to that shift lady I still went to [@] to buy a replacement. This bike had one on the self for repairs at the store already. Bad buy!

Comments about 26-Inch Schwinn Lakeshore Womens Cruiser Bike:

I bought this as a gift for my mother. I have the same bike in a different colorway and didn't want to have matching if we didn't have to.

The biggest qualm I have is the price, you can get the same bike all but the color and name at another shop cheaper. I can't let that take away from my review though, no one forced me to pay what I did. I even paid a few bucks more at another store for the same bike in yet another colorway out of preference. I just think they could all be just a bit cheaper in my opinion if the one store is so much cheaper than all the others.

The bike is cute, no denying that, but it's so comfortable. You could ride this around the neighborhood or for hours on the park bike path. The ability to shift gears makes it so much easier to keep on pedaling unlike a fixed gear cruiser. The seat is awesome for your backside and the style of the handlebars have a very natural feel unlike some others I tried. I actually appreciate the step through style as well. I wouldn't have noticed that before but after a couple knee surgeries you notice the little things that make life a little easier. The luggage rack is stylish and functional and the white wall tires just compliment the style. Shifts smoothly and brakes work as they should though I'm sure some may need adjusting as many store assembled bikes do.

Fits a smaller person at about 5'5" as well as a larger person at 5'10" just as comfortable. Gets many compliments every time it's out. I'm not sure if it will last a year or twenty but right now I am more than pleased with the purchase of it. I tried many others and none had the feel this one did or the 7speed feature at this price point. I'm sure it wasn't meant to be ridden cross country or wouldn't be the first choice of someone who rides a bike for their job because there are bikes made specifically for those things but as a casual cruiser I don't think you can go wrong.

There was one other assembled in the store that looked like it had been in someones garage for a couple years. In my opinion it shouldn't have been on the floor unless it was clearanced. I'm sure you'll find others in your store that have been banged up by the bike rack or put together carelessly but you'll find that in any store that sells 'cheap' bikes.

Comments about 26-Inch Schwinn Lakeshore Womens Cruiser Bike:

I had been looking at this bike for a couple months now. Thought Mother's Day was coming I will wait and see what I get, I made hints that I wanted this bike. I checked it out in the store, the rear breaks were rubbing, thought no big deal the guy said he would have someone fix them and call me (NO CALL). I go back to the store a week later, theres the bike (WRONG)I check the bike out not knowing it was a different bike and say they didnt fix the breaks, So the guy says we can fix it now, ok. Another guy who remembered me from the time before brings out the original bike I looked at it says it was fixed but yet the back tire is stopping, well come to find out the rim was bent on both bikes, so they lost a sale. NOW when purchasing any type of equipment from meijers I will be sure to check it throughly. I do not fully blame Meijers although they should check their merchandise before putting it on display.

Comments about 26-Inch Schwinn Lakeshore Womens Cruiser Bike:

Okay, so I bought this bike for my wife (myself I have had 3 bycycles & have ridden in competition so I know bikes); got it home & needed to true the wheels; I did the front wheel first then inflated the tire to the specified pressure and POW! the tire went flat; checked the inside of the rim and noticed that the spokes actually came thru & punctured the inner tube; had to remove the vinyl lining to file the spokes!! Then I added some electrical tape around the rim for added protection plus the original vinyl piece; bought a new inner tube & inflated the tires again to 40 psi, Adjusted the brakes; I was afraid to true the rear wheel due to the spokes on the front tire; then in a week I noticed the rear tire was flat; found that the seam of the rim had sharp edges that punctured that inner tube; filed that down; patched the tire & now after 24 hours the rear tire seems to be holding up. I will not buy another made in [*]Schwinn again!! Very poor workmanship Schwinn!
