The bike was easy to assemble out of the box, but I recommend that you find a reputable bike shop to adjust the gears and true the wheels. We expected to find some issues buying a bike in a box. The wheels were not true, but the local shop adjusted the spokes within minutes. It was worth the $30.- to have the bike gone through by a professional once I assembled it.
