My daughter's 2nd 'real' bike and the first with gears. She loves it, but after 2 weeks is still stuck in either 3rd or 4th gear according to where I leave it for her. The handlebar twist-shift is WAAAY too stiff for a child (7) to use safely as it really needs two hands! It even takes me a good torque on it to move it, even when the chain is moving fast.

Other than that it's just the ticket and the accessories (brakes, gears, etc) are every bit as good as those on more expensive bikes.

Assembly was easy and the manual/instructions much better than typical, but you need to give yourself time to fiddle with the gear and brake adjustments before the eager child rides it. The out-of-the-box settings in my case were too loose to be safe in my opinion, and for example the default brake handle position was too far from the handlebar to be reached by my daughter. Easy enough to fix, but not so easy with a small child jumping up and down in excitement!

Another slight negative (but unavoidable on reflection and undoubtably common to all twist-shift bikes...): because of the gear shift handle on the right-hand grip there is no room to attach a standard bike bell. My daughter misses it.

Comments about 20-Inch Kawasaki KX20G Girls Mountain Bike:

Riding on the sidewalk and in parks. Seems to be sturdy enough to withstand occational off road rides. It cost us as much as the bike itslf to have it professionally assembled. That is certainly not a bargain. Advice: Buy assembled store model = much cheaper and less hassle. Back wheel is already oval even though bike was ridden only a few times. Made in China = bad quality.

Comments about 20-Inch Kawasaki KX20G Girls Mountain Bike:

This is a mountain bike. Some of the pictures make it look like the handle bars are rounded(comfort bike) but they are strait. My daughter is 7 1/2 and about 49" tall. The reach to the handle bars is a little bit long for her. But we are still happy with the bike. She is figuring out the gears and riding it just fine. Much better than buying a 16" and then having to buy another bike next year. It would be helpful if they would have a age/height recommendation for this bike. By summer it should be perfect!

I searched high and low for a quality bike of this size. I struck gold! This was a gift for my 7 year old daughter. The bike will grow well with her for several years. The bike quality is great, I am so pleased. Meijer had the best price for this bike. It was out-of-stock when I ordered. [...] This was a great online shopping experience.

Comments about 20-Inch Kawasaki KX20G Girls Mountain Bike:

Bought this for my 8 year old daughter. She needed a bike with gears but we weren't willing to fork out a ton of money for a bike that she would outgrow in a year or two. The bike is not as pictured, different color scheme and handle bar set up. However, it fits her fine. My husband assembled the bike himself and for the most part it went together fine. However, we did have to bring it to a local bike shop to get the brakes tweaked. The repair shop told me that the break lines were configured incorrectly, they fixed it no problem. Overall, a great value for a bike with gears. Time will tell how it holds up.

Comments about 20-Inch Kawasaki KX20G Girls Mountain Bike:

It is perfect for our girls who are learning to ride "two-wheelers". It's been an easy bike to get on and off and learn all the fundamentals of bike riding. It will also transition with them when they are ready to learn to use the gears and ride on rougher terrain. The only negative thing I can say is that our 4'8" 8 year old is almost to tall for it. But she's enjoying it for now. Thank you!

My 10-year-old daughter received the bike as a gift from Santa and has not had much chance to ride it yet, but is thrilled with it. The bike looks great for her and seems to be of good quality for me.

This is a nice kid's bike for the money.
                    Well built and works fine.
The problem is the gear derailleur which can't be adjusted to all 6 gears and only work for about 4 gears even though I spent some time to adjust. This is a common problem with this type of kid'd bike though. I have another kid's bike from Pacific and has the same problem.
