Q: What is Meijer Community Rewards (MCR)?
A: This program was developed to meet the growing needs of schools and religious groups to raise funds without product or gift certificate sales and without a lot of administrative work. After an organization enrolls, their supporters apply for and receive a Meijer Credit Card or Meijer 1 CardSM. When this card is scanned at the checkout register, a percentage of the purchase totals are rewarded to their organization of choice - automatically.
Q: What organizations can participate in Meijer Community Rewards?
A: A school (grades K-12) or religious group that’s designated as a 501 non-profit charitable organization by the Internal Revenue Service.
Q: How does the program work?
A: Meijer Community Rewards is based on payment method. Purchases paid with a linked Meijer Credit Card earn 1%. Purchases paid with a PIN-debit card or cash with a swiped Meijer 1 CardSM earn 0.5%. Before your rewards are computed, the current "Giving Share" is applied and this determines your net purchase. Purchase totals are then recorded towards your designated organization. Once a month, when an organization’s rewards reach $100 or more, a check is mailed to your organization.
Q: What is the Meijer 1 CardSM?
A: The Meijer 1 CardSM is the Meijer store customer card that can be used for Meijer Community Rewards credit when used with a PIN-debit card or cash. The Meijer 1 CardSM is not a credit card or debit card.
Q: Can I use my Meijer 1 CardSM along with a CHECK or other payment types?
A: No, only a PIN-debit card, cash, or a Meijer Credit Card is eligible for Meijer Community Rewards. Other forms of payment, such as other types of non-Meijer credit cards, WIC, paycards, store credit, commercial purchases, MasterCard Productivity Business Card, and personal checks are not eligible for Meijer rewards.
Q: What does PIN-debit mean?
A: PIN-debit refers to the required 4 digit PIN number you enter when you use your debit card. This PIN number must be used to receive MCR credit.
Q: How do I get MCR rewards when using my PIN-debit card?
A: When paying with your debit card and entering your PIN, you must also scan your MCR Card just as you would when paying cash. This allows us to connect your purchases to your MCR account.
Q: If I sign when using my debit card, will I earn MCR rewards?
A: No. Signing for a transaction doesn’t qualify as a debit card payment, and therefore doesn’t earn rewards.
Q: Why does Meijer apply a "Giving Share" to my purchases? A: Meijer gives back at least 6% of our net profits to our communities - one of the highest levels in the industry. Meijer Giving Share will change periodically based on Meijer overall profitability and community giving standard of no less than 6% of net profits. Q: Can my whole family use the same Meijer 1 CardSM?
A: Members in your household should use the same Meijer 1 CardSM. Other relatives who want to have their rewards apply to your account need to link their card to yours when they join. Do not share your Meijer 1 CardsSM with people not living in your household.
Q: If I forget to give the cashier my Meijer 1 CardSM or Meijer Credit Card, can I get Meijer Community Rewards credit afterwards?
A: Once the transaction is complete, the cashier cannot add Meijer Community Rewards credit at the checkout lane. However, you have up to 90 days to take the receipt to the Service Desk to get credit. Simply present your receipt and your Meijer Card to the Service Desk.
Q: If I return an item, does this purchase still earn rewards?
A: No, our program will automatically deduct rewards on items that are returned.
Q: Do I have to spend a certain amount of money every month to participate?
A: No, you’ll begin accumulating rewards after the first dollar spent every month at Meijer stores and Meijer Gas Stations. There’s no limit to the amount you can spend monthly. The more you spend, the more you earn!
Q: Are rewards eligible at Meijer Gas Stations?
A: Yes! All gasoline and convenience store purchases are eligible for rewards. If using a PIN-debit card or cash to pay for gas, you must pay inside at the register (not at the pump). The cashier will need to swipe your Meijer 1 CardSM to link the purchase to your account.
Q: Can I get Meijer Community Rewards credit when I pay with a Meijer Gift Card?
A: No. However, if you buy a Meijer Gift Card and pay with a linked Meijer Credit Card, cash, or your PIN-debit card, you do earn rewards.
Q: Can I still receive individual credit from my organization towards TRIP or other individual programs?
A: Your organization will receive a monthly report with individual rewards which they may use as needed. Contact your organization for details.
Q: How much money will my organization receive?
A: The program works best with a group effort. The more that participate, the greater the rewards. Your organization receives these rewards year round. There is no limit on what your organization can earn!
Q: How can Meijer give this money to my group without raising my prices?
A: Meijer has always supported the communities we serve, and Meijer Community Rewards is just one of the avenues of Meijer giving. Each year, Meijer gives no less than 6% of net profits to our communities.
Q: I’m a Meijer Team Member - can I participate in Meijer Community Rewards?
A: Absolutely! Your Meijer 1 CardSM will also work with your Team Member card.
Q: What if my child’s grandparents or friends also want to have their purchases applied to my account?
A: Relatives or friends who want to have their rewards apply to your account need to link their card on the Meijer 1 CardSM application form. This is called our "Family & Friends Linking" option. For example, a grandparent wants to give his rewards to his grandchild’s family, so that grandchild’s family card number gets recorded on the grandparent’s application. That grandchild’s family card number cannot in turn link TO another card, but they can have rewards linked FROM as many cards as they want. You’ll find the "Family & Friends Linking" option on online and paper applications. Each cardholder earns at its own rate. Please do not share your set of cards with people that do not live in your household.

Q: How do I sign up?
A: If your organization is participating, you can join instore by applying for a Meijer Credit Card, or you can join online here. To receive a Meijer 1 CardSM, join online or obtain an application from your organization or your local Meijer store. If you already have a Meijer Credit Card, just call 1-800-962-7011.
Q: What does it cost me to participate?
A: Nothing - this program is free to all customers.
Q: How do I know if my group is enrolled?
A: Contact the organizations you wish to support or search for your organization here.
Q: My application requires an organization code number - where do I find this?
A: Each participating organization has been assigned a 6-digit code that they can give you. Contact the organization you want to support, or search for your organization here. If they’re enrolled, your organization’s code will be listed.
Q: What if my organization isn’t enrolled?
A: Organizations may sign up here.
Q: How many organizations can I designate?
A: You can choose up to three. Rewards will be split among them equally.
Q: Why can’t I donate to other organizations besides schools and religious groups?
A: This program was designed to benefit Meijer customers and community-based schools and religious groups. We support other types of organizations in different ways.
Q: Can I order more than one Meijer 1 CardSM family pack (includes 1 card and 2 key tags)?
A: No, our program only allows you to order one family pack. They must be shared only among your household members. Please do not share your set of cards with people not living in your household.
Combining Your MCR Account with a Meijer Credit Card Account
Q: Can I join Meijer Community Rewards when I sign up for a Meijer Credit Card?
A: Yes. If you’re applying for a Meijer Credit Card online, there will be a field to enter your MCR organization code. Just follow the instructions. If you’re applying instore, ask the Team Member helping you to enter the MCR organization code on your credit card application. You’ll begin earning rewards immediately when you use your Meijer Credit Card. We’ll mail your confirmation and extra Meijer 1 CardSM key tags within 3-4 weeks separate from your credit card. Your Meijer 1 CardsSM may be used when paying with cash or your PIN-debit card for your Meijer purchase without your Meijer Credit Card. If you’re already are a member of Meijer Community Rewards, follow the same instructions above. Please use the same name, address, phone number and birth date on both accounts so they can be linked.
Q: What if I already have a Meijer Credit Card and want to add a new or existing Community Rewards account to it?
A: Call 1-800-962-7011 to combine your Community Rewards Account with an existing Meijer Credit Card account.
Q: What if I’m declined for the Meijer Credit Card?
A: If you enter your organization code on your Meijer Credit Card application but are declined for the credit card, you’ll still receive a wallet-sized Meijer 1 CardSM and two key tags for the Community Rewards program. Within 30 days you’ll receive information on why you weren’t approved for the credit card.
Q: How do I use my Meijer Credit Card to earn Community Rewards?
A: If you’re paying for your purchases with your Meijer Credit Card, just swipe your credit card when you check out. It’s automatic! If you’re not paying with your Meijer Credit Card, you have two options:
1. Swipe your Meijer Credit Card* when you check out, then select "other payment type." Cash* or your PIN-debit card may then be used for payment
- OR –
2. Scan one of your Meijer 1 CardSM key tags just like a product and pay with a PIN-debit card or cash*. Your other household family members who don’t use a Meijer Credit Card can also use the Meijer 1 CardSM key tags to earn rewards!
* Checks and other types of non-Meijer Credit Cards are not eligible for Meijer Community Rewards.
Q: Can I use the Meijer MasterCard or the Meijer 1 CardSM at any other businesses?
A: You can use your Meijer MasterCard at other locations to pay for purchases but you can only earn rewards at Meijer. You can only use your Meijer 1 CardSM at Meijer.
Q: At which Meijer stores can I use my Meijer Credit Card or Meijer 1 CardSM and get Community Rewards credit?
A: Your card is eligible at all Meijer locations, Meijer Gas Stations, Meijer Convenience Stores, Meijer Car Washes and online Meijer purchases.

Q: I want to find out how much I’ve spent/earned - how do I do this?

Q: My calculations (receipts) don’t match Meijer online account information for my family.
A: Please be assured that we do everything possible to compute rewards accurately. If you believe your rewards are wrong, please check the following:
· Did you pay with a Meijer Credit Card, a PIN-debit card or cash? Only purchases made at Meijer, with a linked Meijer Credit Card, cash, or your PIN-debit card are eligible for Meijer Community Rewards. Other forms of payment, such as other types of non-Meijer credit cards, and personal checks, are not eligible for MCR credit.
· Does your receipt have your Meijer 1 CardSM number on it? If the purchase was properly linked to your Meijer Community Rewards account with a Meijer Credit Card or a Meijer 1 CardSM, you’ll see "Meijer Card - XXXXXXXX" on the receipt. If the purchase wasn’t properly linked, you have up to 90 days to take the receipt and Meijer 1 CardSM or Meijer Credit Card to the Service Desk to get Meijer Rewards credit.
· Is your Meijer Credit Card linked to your MCR account? Please call 1-800-962-7011 to verify that your Meijer Credit Card is linked to your MCR account.
· Did you use a Meijer Gift Card or Gift Return Certificate to pay for all or part of your purchase? This amount would be deducted from your purchase total before your rewards are totaled. Rewards on Meijer Gift Cards are paid when the Meijer Gift Card is purchased, not when it’s redeemed.
· Did you purchase any excluded items? We currently exclude purchases made with personal checks, other types of non-Meijer credit cards, commercial purchases, MasterCard Productivity Business Card, group buying, lottery purchases, postage, insurer paid prescriptions, layaway, and sales tax. Rewards are computed after discounts, credits and any additional savings are deducted and gift cards and return cards are redeemed. Some instore business (shoe repair, salon, third party sales, etc.) may not participate.

Q: How can I check to make sure my purchases are credited?
A: On your receipt, you’ll see the words "Meijer Card". You’ll also see your month-to-date purchases (with 48 hr. delay). Receipt totals don’t always reflect returns, although returns will be deducted before your rewards are calculated. If you’ve replaced your card during the month, your receipt totals won’t be accurate until the following month. View your detailed purchase history here.
Q: Are my rewards tax deductible?
A: Meijer can’t advise on tax issues. See your tax advisor for further information.
Q: I lost or damaged my card
A: You can order a new card by calling 1-800-962-7011, or by sending an email to meijerrewards@meijer.com with your name, street address and phone number. We’ll issue new cards with a new number and cancel your old one. If you find your old card later, please discard it, it won’t work anymore. We’ll transfer your purchase history to your new card. You’ll need to ask your "Family & Friends Linking" supporters to call 1-800-962-7011 to update their accounts with your new card number.
If you participate in UpromiseTM, update your UpromiseTM account with your new card number.
Q: I’m getting married/divorced/moving in or out of household.
A: In order to earn the most rewards, please follow these procedures:
· If two previously separate households are combining, you’ll need to fill out one joint application for a single set of replacement cards.
· If a household member is moving out, that person should discard their existing card and apply for a new one.
· Anyone changing households temporarily should continue using their primary residence card. (For instance, college students or summer/winter residence changes.)
Update your membership or create a new one.
Q: I need to change my designated organization.
A: Update your organizations here, or call 1-800-962-7011, and we can make the change immediately. The organization that is active at the end of the month receives that month’s rewards.
Q: I don’t want my individual purchases tracked, but I do want credit for my total purchases given to my organizations.
A: In order to benefit your organization, the only way to determine rewards is to track purchase data.
Q: What do you do with my individual personal information?
A: On occasion, customers may provide Meijer with nonpublic personal information, such as birth date or account number, registering for Meijer programs, contests and card services. We don’t sell or otherwise market nonpublic personal information to unaffiliated third parties. We may provide nonpublic personal information to third parties but only when necessary to service your accounts or process requests.
We may contact you from time to time to let you know of products and services that may interest you or to get your feedback. If you provided your email address, that’s how we’ll normally contact you. Please visit Your Account to manage your email contact preferences. If we don’t have your valid email address, we may contact you by phone. If you don’t want to be contacted by phone, you must call 1-800-253-8053 to opt out.
Although you may choose not to receive marketing materials, Meijer retains the right to contact you to service your Meijer Community Rewards Account.
Q: What information does my school organization receive?
A: Since some organizations offer tuition scholarships and other individual account record keeping, we offer them access to your card’s rewards total. No purchase details are shared.
